AWH Roofing was formed in 2007 by Alex Hickin. Having served an apprenticeship and studies with the Lead Work Association Alex decided to travel and see the world before settling down. His travels took him to New Zealand where he settled for some time and worked for a roofing company learning yet another aspect of the roofing industry, that of corrugated and sheet work. After returning home in November 2006 he took up employment with a local roofing business. He did a course in Belgium on the methods used there for Zinc to gain experience of yet another style and material used within the industry.
Alex had aspirations to offer his services to other companies and the public in general, so with the contacts and tradesmen he knew decided to take the plunge and go into business in March of 2007. Things have progressed very well and with the formation of the new company, its increased resources and a more diverse work force is all part of the expansion plan.
